The Prepared Childbirth classes are a comprehensive look at labor and delivery in addition to early postpartum weeks. This class is designed for those who are having their first child or have not taken a class within four years. Breathing and relaxation are covered in addition to pain management techniques. Hospital procedures and Cesarean births are also addressed, as well as instruction in infant CPR.
The last class of the 3-session series closes with a tour of Medical Center of McKinney’s labor and delivery suites, postpartum and an overview of the newborn nursery an Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nursery for premature babies. When enrolling, please indicate expected delivery date with registration.
This class is 2 hours per session.
